Patricia (Tish) Jennings, Associate Professor of Elementary Education, and an expert in mindfulness and teaching, has come to the Curry School from Pennsylvania State University. Here, she will integrate her work in the areas of contemplative classroom approaches into our teacher preparation program, as well as serve as Curry's representative to UVa's Contemplative Sciences Center.

Mindfulness Class to Be Held for McIntire Students

Spring 2014 COMM 3995 Tu 6:30-8:00pm | A variety of informal practices will also be introduced to facilitate mindful awareness of everyday activities.  Students are expected to participate in all in-class practices and discussions with full, non-judgmental attention.  Discussions will explore the applications of mindfulness in mind-body awareness, mindful eating, communication skills, business-career contexts, and stress reduction.
