Join CSC contemplative instructor Shaaron Honeycutt for an afternoon of simple Iyengar-based yoga practices designed to help you sleep. This hands-on class will take place in the North Grounds Recreation Center in the second floor yoga studio MP3. Yoga mats will be provided. Please wear comfortable attire.

Title: “Wisdom from the Iyengar Yoga Tradition: Yoga Practices to Improve Sleep” 
 
Shaaron is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher at the Intermediate level and has traveled to India multiple times to study and practice with the Iyengar family. She owns, directs and teaches at Allied Yoga in Charlottesville, Virginia and has helped children and adults, including those with severe ailments such as Parkinson’s, to attain higher levels of living. Shaaron has studied with many other Iyengar teachers including the completion of a 4-½ year apprenticeship. Shaaron’s numerous deep and challenging life experiences allow her to bring a unique perspective into the yoga room and the classroom. Continually inspired by her students, Shaaron strives to uplift and challenge them to move beyond their perceived limitations and manifest the greatness that is inherent in all of us. Shaaron also incorporates humor into each class she teaches, enabling the “medicine” of personal growth to digest with ease and joy.  
 
This program is part of an 8-week Rotunda Contemplative Practice Series. It is open to the public and free of charge. No registration is required. Please arrive early—room size will dictate class capacity. You may attend individual or multiple sessions as class capacity allows.
