Patricia Frist Elcan
Trisha Elcan currently serves on the Board of The Frist Foundation and is Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Ensworth School. She was instrumental in the expansion of the school from a K-8 to a K-12. She and her husband, Chuck, are owners of The Loveless Cafe and Barn which they purchased and restored in 2002 to save a local landmark and the jobs it continues to provide.
Previously, she served on the Jefferson Scholars Board and Alumni Association Board of Managers of the University of Virginia and is now a member of the Emeritus Society.
A committed philanthropist, especially dedicated to education, Trisha has found her highest calling in helping the underserved and disadvantaged through many social justice efforts. She is passionate about offering educational and career opportunities to those who might not otherwise have them due to socioeconomic, family, or other circumstances. She is also fervent about enhancing communication and understanding across people of various backgrounds with the ultimate goal of a more peaceful and harmonious world.
She served as Chairman on the Advisory Board of the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee where she was a founding member with other community leaders who were looking for long-term solutions to transform the lives of women and girls. She has served on many non-profit boards including the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, the Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center, the Princeton University Parents Fund, and the Family Foundation Fund/Restoring Fatherhood. She continues to promote her social justice agenda using her personal and professional relationships in support of these organizations and many others. Trisha participates regularly in alternative healing classes/practices and conflict resolution workshops and is an advocate for making these opportunities accessible to all.
Trisha worked at the Andersen Consulting Group and Equitable Securities. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1987 with a B.A. in Economics. She lives in Nashville, TN with her husband and three daughters.
