Naomi Worth is a doctoral student in U.Va.’s Religious Studies department. She focuses on contemplative yogic practices in Tibet and India, as well as the history and philosophy of the “subtle body.” Naomi is also the Teaching Assistant for John Campbell’s Theory and Practice of Yoga course, where she leads weekly contemplative labs in applied yoga and meditation.
As an undergraduate at Tulane University, she was introduced to yoga and meditation in a Buddhist philosophy course. Since 2003 she has studied Tibetan Buddhism and Ashtanga yoga in India and Nepal, and is an Authorized Level I Ashtanga Yoga teacher.
At U.Va., Naomi is a directorate member of the Contemplative Sciences Center, president of the Buddhist Studies Group, and leads meditative art tours at the Fralin Art museum.
