Climbing is one of many goal-driven activities that have 'flow' potential. The kinesthetic understanding of space through movement engages the body in the flow of the mind and vice versa, which has a meditative effect and contributes to heightened body/mind awareness without formal meditation. This course explores the notion of mindfulness in a more active context than traditional meditation, connecting it to other dimensions of goal-oriented daily life (such as academic life).
Note: This class will be held in an appropriate nearby location (bouldering Outdoor Rec Facility or other local climbing gyms). More details on the location TBA.
