Brian Pusser is Associate Professor of Higher Education at the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. His research focuses on postsecondary policy, international and comparative higher education, political theories of higher education, and the organization and governance of postsecondary institutions in comparative perspective.
His most recent publications include “University Rankings in Critical Perspective,” Journal of Higher Education (2013), co-authored with Simon Marginson, and the co-edited volume, Universities and the Public Sphere: Knowledge Creation and State Building in the Era of Globalization, Routledge Press (2011. He is co-editor of the forthcoming book Critical Approaches to the Study of Higher Education, Johns Hopkins University Press.
Dr. Pusser serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Higher Education and the Review of Higher Education. He is also an editorial board member of the Seminario de Educación Superior of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
